It’s Thursday, the last day of the pilgrimage and soon we’ll be homeward bound.
An earlier Mass of 9.30am will lead into the Final Visit to the Holy House, as we thank God for all the blessings we have received throughout the pilgrimage.
As set our face towards home, we give thanks for St David and the Saints of Wales who have lived and moved where we dwell and who have filled and formed our landscape with prayer and praise of God.

Entrance Hymn Lord, who in thy perfect wisdom times and seasons dost arrange, working out thy changeless purpose in a world of ceaseless change: thou didst form our ancient nation, guiding it through all the days, to unfold in it thy purpose to thy glory and thy praise. To our shores remote, benighted, barrier of the western waves, tidings in thy love thou sentest, tidings of the cross that saves. First Reading (Philippians 3:8-14) I believe nothing can happen that will outweigh the supreme advantage of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For him I have accepted the loss of everything, and I look on everything as so much rubbish if only I can have Christ and be given a place in him. I am no longer trying for perfection by my own efforts, the perfection that comes from the Law, but I want only the perfection that comes through faith in Christ, and is from God and based on faith. All I want is to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and to share his sufferings by reproducing the pattern of his death. That is the way I can hope to take my place in the resurrection of the dead. Not that I have become perfect yet: I have not yet won, but I am still running, trying to capture the prize for which Christ Jesus captured me. I can assure you my brothers, I am far from thinking that I have already won. All I can say is that I forget the past and I strain ahead for what is still to come; I am racing for the finish, for the prize to which God calls us upwards to receive in Christ Jesus. Prayer to Our Lady of Walsingham O Mary, recall the solemn moment when Jesus, your divine Son, dying on the cross, confided us to your maternal care. You are our Mother; we desire ever to remain your devout children. Let us therefore feel the effects of your powerful intercession with Jesus Christ. Make your name again glorious in this place, once renowned throughout our land by your visits, favours and many miracles. Pray, O Holy Mother of God, for the conversion of England and Wales, restoration of the sick, consolation for the afflicted, repentance of sinners, peace to the departed. O Blessed Mary, Mother of God, Our Lady of Walsingham, intercede for us. Amen. Let us thank God for all the blessings of our Pilgrimage and ask Our Lady of Walsingham to pray for us as we return to our daily lives: O Mary, Mother of Jesus, I thank God through your Son, for the grace of a happy pilgrimage, and for all that has happened to me while I have been here. Pray for all those I have met here and for all my fellow pilgrims. Pray that I may have a safe and happy return home, and that God may give me the grace to do at home what you have taught me to do here. Lord Jesus, hear us. Our Lady of Walsingham, pray for us. St Joseph, pray for us. Holy Family of England’s Nazareth Protect us who hope and trust in you. Dear Mother of our Saviour Christ we hail thee, and depart. Our pilgrimage is now complete, we leave petitions at thy feet Enfold them in thy heart Be with us as we journey home Mother of God, we pray. Make us to love thy blessed Son and may his holy will be done in duty day by day. O holy house of Walsingham! Here would we ever dwell but Jesus calls us to the strife and tumults of our daily life Our Lady’s Shrine, “Farewell” Let us go in the peace of Christ. Thanks be to God.
